Love For Kids Inc. was established in 1975 by Bill Barrett, a local businessman and philanthropist, and Alan Powdermaker, CEO of Circle R Ranch. Bill and Alan wanted to have a special Christmas party for 200 children to share Christmas with at-risk children. The party was a success and the founders, seeing the need decided to make it an annual event.
Goal -Work hand in hand with families to ensure families have basic needs like education and resources.
Vision - Strengthen family relationships thru education, empowerment and being engaged with community participation.
The legacy of Bill Barrett and Alan Powdermaker has continued on with the next generation of philanthropists. We strive to honor what they created almost half a century ago as we continue to help today’s kids just as they did. We now have multiple divisions to address the growing needs of the children we serve in the metroplex.
Thanks to special relationships with our cornerstone partners we have been able to make a difference in lives of thousands of at-risk children in North Texas. Our partners give us the ability to ensure each child we serve at the holiday party receives an age and gender appropriate gift. Our partners have been giving our children special memories at Circle R Ranch riding horses, going on hayrides, playing games and enjoying childhood. Our events are all free
We include special needs children in our mission and advocate for those with rare disorders and diseases. The All Kids Count event as well as our Roll For Rare division give us the ability to provide for these amazing kids.
Love For Kids, Inc. not only helps our own children, we have also helped coordinate the sorting and distribution of toys to children's charities across North Texas each year in partnership with Dallas Children's Charities since it began.
